Establishing Industry Standards: AntDB Participating in Several Database Industry Standards Conferences
Recently, the secretariat of the Database Standards Working Group of the National Information Technology Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC28/WG31) organized a number of seminars on database standards, namely: Analytical Database, Distributed Database, Centralized Database and Database Standards Conference, in which AntDB and dozens of representatives of domestic database enterprises and experts participated.
These sessions mainly focused on the technical development, industry applications and standards requirements of multi-type databases for in-depth exchanges, and proposed some advice on the support of mandatory national standards related to database software, and software upgrade.
In-depth participation: AntDB boosts the establishment of industry standard
The experts of AntDB proposed that an enterprise-level general-purpose database needs to have three major characteristics: being standard, being massive and being real-time. Standard refers to the ability of compatibility, which can support both structured and unstructured data and be compatible with the open source ecosystem; massive is the smooth scaling of the database system on the basis of distributed architecture, while achieving efficient management of data and the separation of hot and cold data; real-time implies that whether it is the application-oriented transaction response capability or the analysis and processing capability in the face of a large amount of data, enterprises' requirements for real-time database is getting higher and higher.
AntDB was established in 2008. On the core system of operators, AntDB provides online services for more than 1 billion users in 24 provinces across the country. With product features such as high performance, elastic expansion and high reliability, AntDB can process one million core communications transactions per second at peak, ensuring the continuous and stable operation of the system for nearly ten years.
As an enterprise-level distributed database for general purpose, AntDB supports flexible deployment across regions and multi-centers, integrates disaster recovery and high availability, and meets the highest level of security. It has been widely used in communication, finance, transportation, energy, Internet of Things and other industries.

Domestic database: coming from innovation scenario
With the rapid development of information and communication technology and mobile Internet, many enterprises had experienced explosive growth. Under the pressure, the business showed the characteristics of highly concurrent read and write, massive data processing, and heterogeneous data structure, and the system pressure of tens of millions of users also pushed the development of database technology.
AsiaInfo was one of the first companies to invest in research and development of its own database products. It has experienced the evolution of architecture from centralized to distributed and then to cloud-native, and has completed 7 versions of iteration and new technology development of AntDB products based on the high-density transaction processing requirements.
The development trend: solving mutiple problems through one set of mechanism
The business characteristics and enterprise requirements in different user scenarios are also different. In the multi-business scenario, the database bearing capacity also becomes diversified, which requires the database system to be able to handle not only OLTP-type business, but also OLAP-type business. Based on AntDB's horizontal expansion, kernel-level read/write separation, dual-engine support capability, it is possible to meet the demand of both TP and AP scenarios under the same database system.
AsiaInfo will continue to uphold the concept of technological innovation and empowerment, contribute to the development of database industry standards, and boost enterprises' high-quality digital development.
